KARIMOV ALI KARIMOVICH
Guard, Corporal a participant in World War II, Full cavalier of the Order of “Glory” (24.03.1945) 

   He was born on April 14, 1914 in the village of Shikhlar, now in the Shamakhi region of Azerbaijan, in a peasant family. Azerbaijani. Member of the CPSU (b) / CPSU since 1944. He graduated from 7th classes. He worked on a collective farm.
   In the Red Army in 1936-1939 and since 1941. At the front in World War II since July 1941. He fought on the 2nd Ukrainian front. He took part in the liberation of Romania, Hungary.
   Sniper of the 229th Guards Rifle Regiment (72nd Guards Rifle Division, 7th Guards Army, 2nd Ukrainian Front) Guards Corporal Ali Karimov on August 22, 1944, when breaking through the enemy’s defense near the village of Kogeltiyamu (Romania), entered the pillbox, killed four soldiers, and captured two.

   On September 21, 1944, Ali Karimov, in the same military composition, in a battle near the village of Olah Telek (13 kilometers southeast of the city of Regin, Romania) was among the first to break into the enemy’s position, destroy the calculation of the gun, and suppress two machine-gun points. He was shell-shocked, but remained in service.
   For courage and bravery shown in the battles of the Guard, Corporal Karimov Ali Karimovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree (No. 9019) on October 26, 1944.
   A shooter of the same regiment and division (53rd Army, 2nd Ukrainian Front) Ali Karimov on November 6, 1944 with a group of fighters secretly made his way to the rear of the enemy northwest of the city of Szolnok (Hungary), attacked the enemy’s headquarters, destroyed an officer and five a soldier, captured staff cards and documents, artillery devices and delivered to his location.

   By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, Corporal Karimov Ali Karimovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree (No. 16) for becoming a full cavalier of the Order of Glory for exemplary fulfillment of command assignments in battles against the Nazi invaders of the guard.
   In 1945, the foreman A.K.Karimov was demobilized from the Armed Forces of the USSR. He lived in the village of Gobustan of the Baku City Council of Azerbaijan. He worked as a drilling master in the Absheronburneft trust.
   He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, the Order of the Red Star, the Orders of Glory of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree, medals.
    He died in 1985.
