ISMOILOV ISHANKUL

Ishanqul Ismoilov was born on March 1, 1902 in the Turkish village (now Gallaorol district of Jizzakh region). After receiving incomplete secondary education, he worked on a collective farm. In October 1942, Ismailov was drafted into the Red Army. From February 1943 he participated in World War II. Until February 1945, Ishankul Ismailov, a Red Army Guard soldier, was a Rifle of the 240th Guards Rifle Regiment of the 74th Guards Rifle Division of the 8th Guards Army of the 1st Belorussian Front. He fought valiantly In the liberation of Poznan.

In an attack on a German defense unit in Poznan, Ismailov personally destroyed a heavy machine gun and anti-aircraft device, resulting in the battalion successfully completing the attack.

By the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 31, 1945, Ishankul Ismailov, a private of the Red Army, was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
