In 1944, Sergeant Avezmuratov fought on the 1st Belorussian Front. As part of the 69th army, he was among the first to cross the border with Poland, and reached the Vistula. He was twice awarded the Medal of Courage for his bravery in battle.
In early January 1945, during a reconnaissance battle near an unknown height in the settlement of Gurna (Poland), Guards Sergeant Avezmuratov secretly entered the enemy trench with his machine gun. As the militants attacked, the machine gunners opened fire on the Hitlerites. His account destroys dozens of Nazis and ensures the success of the route’s attack. On January 20, 1945, Sergeant Avezmuratov Rahim was awarded the Order of “Glory” of the III-degree by the order of the Commander of the 77th Guards Rifle Division.
On January 24, Guards Sergeant Avezmuratov accounted for a platoon of gunmen with his own fire as he broke through enemy defenses in southwestern Pulawa, Poland. As soon as the artillery moved the fire into the enemy’s defenses, the infantry began to move forward. The machine gunners not only tracked down the shooters, but also supported them and killed more than 20 Hitlerites. In one of the trenches, the machine gunners run out of bullets and have to fight. Avezmuratov is clear and determined. He snatches a machine gun from a German soldier and destroys dozens of enemies.
On February 23, 1945, by the order of the Commander of the 69th Army, Guards Sergeant Avezmuratov Rahim was awarded the Order of «Glory» of the II degree.
On March 10, 1945, Avezmuratov, a staff sergeant in the Guards, showed martial arts and personal courage. In a recommendation to the regimental commander for the award, he wrote: “Supporting the infantry, which attacked with their machine guns in the battle for the 54.2-meter high, cleared the way for their advance. All his accounts were destroyed in the battle, and Avezmuratov, who was left alone in the machine gun, fired a devastating shot at the enemy who attacked. He killed about 20 Hitlerites in a counterattack. When the attack on Berlin began in April, the regiment’s composition went as far as Elba.
By the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 31, 1945, staff sergeant Avezmuradov was awarded the Order of “Glory” I degree, «For exemplary performance of the command’s combat missions and demonstrated courage and heroism in the fight against the Nazi invaders on the front».
In 1945, Staff Guards Sergeant Avezmuradov was released from the reserve and returned to his village. He completed a tractor driver’s course and worked on a collective farm
He died on December 16, 1983.
