Born November 12, 1913 in the city of Melekess (now Dimitrovgrad, Ulyanovsk Region) in a working class family. Russian. Since 1921 he lived in the city of Tver. He graduated from 7 classes. He worked as a foundry worker in a stamp factory.
Since 1938 he lived at the Zerbulak station now in the Narpaysky district of the Samarkand region, from where he was drafted into the Red Army on February 9, 1942. In the army since March 20, 1942.
When capturing the dominant altitude north of the city of Kerch (Republic of Crimea) on January 10, 1944, the mortar crew commander I.Golikov, with his own crew, destroyed 2 firing points and up to 10 German soldiers.
When repelling the enemy’s counterattack, mortars destroyed up to 25 enemy soldiers. By order of the commander of the 383rd Infantry Division of February 13, 1944, Sergeant Golikov Ivan Georgievich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
During the breakthrough of the enemy’s defense in the area of the city, Kerch destroyed up to 20 German soldiers as well, having ensured mastery of the enemy’s first trench on its site.
By order of the commander of the Separate Seaside Army of May 30, 1944, Sergeant Golikov Ivan Georgievich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
During the Moravian-Ostrava offensive operation on the approaches to the city of Moravsk-Ostravas on April 27-30, 1945, I.G. Golikov’s crew took part in repelling 10 enemy counterattacks, destroying an artillery gun, 3 machine guns and up to 20 German soldiers.
May 4, 1945 I.G. Golikov was shell-shocked in the battle, but continued to manage the calculation.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 15, 1946 «For the exemplary performance of command assignments in battles against Nazi invaders», sergeant Golikov Ivan Georgievich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree.
In October 1945, the foreman I.G. Golikov was demobilized. He lived in the city of Lutugino, now in the Lugansk region (Ukraine). He died on May 12, 1981. He was buried in the city of Lutugino, Lugansk region (Ukraine).
