TURDIYEV KUCHKAR

Private, Participant of World War II, The Hero of the Soviet Union (March 27, 1942)

He was born on September 1, 1917 in Dardak village of Kurgantepa district, Andijan region of Uzbekistan. He was Uzbek. After graduating from elementary school, he worked on a collective farm.
He served in the Red Army from 1940. From September 1941 he participated in World War II.
On October 15, 1941, a firing squad led by Private Kuchkar Turdiyev attacked the village of Trudolyubovka in Krasnokutsky district of Kharkiv region of Ukraine. In the direction of the attack, the enemy fired from a wooden point of fire and stopped the attack of the company. The firing squad is ordered to destroy the enemy’s wooden firing point. In carrying out this task, Turdiyev crawled from behind to the enemy’s wooden firing point and calmed down a German officer who was firing a machine gun with the butt of his weapon. He then engaged in a hand-to-hand battle with two other German soldiers, captured two more, and after completing his mission, Turdiev joined his offensive company.
In 1942, Turdiyev completed a junior lieutenant course, and in 1943 an accelerated course at the Gomel Military Infantry School.
By the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 27, 1942, “For exemplary performance of combat duties, courage and heroism in the fight against Nazi invaders on the front”, Private Turdiyev Kochkar Akhmedovich was awarded the title of “The Hero of the Soviet Union”.
He died on August 4, 1989.
