KAZAKOV KONSTANTIN FEDOROVICH

Senior Sergeant, Participant of World War II,  The Hero of the Soviet Union (October 30, 1943)

He was born on August 14, 1906 in the village of Pachelma (now a village in the Penza region).

After graduating from primary school, he lived and worked in the Bukhara region of the Uzbek SSR. In January 1942, Kazakov was drafted into the Red Army by the Kasan District Military Commissariat of Bukhara Region and served in World War II. In October 1943, Senior Sergeant Konstantin Kazakov was the group commander of the 303^rd Infantry Regiment of the 69^th Infantry Division of the 65^th Army of the Central Front. He fought valiantly in the Battle of the Dnieper.

On October 16, 1943, he and his group crossed the Dnieper near the village of Radul, Repkinsky District, Chernigov Region, Ukrainian SSR, and pushed the enemy out of the trenches until the main forces of the battalion arrived.

By the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 30, 1943, “For exemplary performance of combat duties and bravery and heroism in the fight against Nazi invaders on the front”, Senior Sergeant Konstantin Kazakov was awarded the title of “The Hero of the Soviet Union”.

He lived in Karshi. He died in 1951.
