JUDOV IVAN YEGOROVICH
Senior Lieutenant, Participant of World War II, The Hero of the Soviet Union (March 24, 1945) 

He was born on May 10, 1921 in Prichij villige (now the southeastern territory of Komarich district of Bryansk region) in a peasant family. He was Russian.

He lived in Sevastopol city, then in Tashkent. After graduating from the Tashkent College of Accounting and Economics, he worked as a chief accountant at the State Bank of the Uzbek SSSR. 

On April 19, 1940 he was drafted into the Red Army by the Kirov distrivt military commissariat in Tashkent.

He participated in World War II from July 10, 1941.

In August-September 1941, he participated in Yelnin Operation as a liaison in the 146^th Special Communications Battalion of the 103^rd Artillery Division of the 24^th Army of the Reserve Front. He overcame telephone interruptions in battles under enemy attack. He was wounded and concussed while maintaining constant communication between the units of the division.

In the first half of October, the troops of the 24^th Army were besieged in the western part of Vyazma as a result of strikes on the wings by the superior forces of the enemy. Judov, along with some of the warriors and commanders, managed to break out of the siege. Then he was sent to the newly formed 385^th Infantry Division. As part of this unit, he took part in the bloody battles in Moscow and Smolensk.

In 1943 he was sent to the courses of junior lieutenants. On June 21, 1944, the commander of the Artillery Platoon of the 1270^th Artillery Regiment of the 385^th Artillery Division of the 50^th Army of the 2^nd Belorussian Front Junior Lieutenant Judov was captured during a battle near the village of Golochevo, Chauskiy District, Mogilev region, Belarus. Leading the group, he entered the enemy trench and shot the German officer, destroyed the enemy soldiers who resisted together with the group and captured one of them.

On June 27, 1944, he and his warriors crossed the Dnieper River under heavy enemy artillery and mortar attack, captured a bridgehead without any casualties near village of Dashkovka, Mogilev district, Mogilev region. He repulsed three strong counter-attacks of the enemy. He did not lose the bridgehead until the main force of the infantry crossed the Dnieper and arrived.

He later served in the 1270^th Infantry Regiment of the 385^th Infantry Division in the liberation of Belarus and Poland, and was promoted to the rank of infantry company commander.

On February 26, 1945, Senior Lieutenant Judov was killed in battle at Dansig. He was buried in the village of Jabno (Poland).

By the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, “For exemplary performance of combat duties, courage and heroism in the fight against Nazi invaders on the front”, Senior Lieutenant Judov Ivan Yegorovich was awarded the title of “The Hero of the Soviet Union”.
