KARPOV VLADIMIR VASILEVICH

Born on July 28, 1922 in Orenburg. He lived and studied at school in Tashkent.
He studied at the Tashkent infantry school (1939-1941). He was the Middleweight Boxing champion of Uzbekistan and the republics of Central Asia.
In February 1941, as a cadet, he was arrested and convicted by the military Tribunal of the Central Asian military district for anti-Soviet agitation for 5 years in prison. In October 1942, he was sent to the Kalinin front in a penal company. From January 1943 – in the reconnaissance platoon of the 629th rifle regiment of the 134th rifle division.
